D.A.R.E.(Determined Adults Reading and Education)

The DARE program was started in the year 2007 with the goal of providing and enhancing literacy skills for adults with developmental disabilities.  Furthermore, to develop necessary skills to eventually attain employment and independence in the community.

D.A.R.E. provides individualised lessons for the students on a one-on-one basis.  Skills acquired through lessons range from reading and math to computers and spelling.  It all depends on the goals of the student!  There are also group computer lab classes where students can learn basic computer skills. The Juchniewicz DARE Learning Centre is equipped with a computer lab and a library. Essentially, the DARE program strives to enrich its students with literacy skills that they will be able to use in the community at-large.
