Lawson Ministries Hamilton runs Community Access to Transportation (CAT), a City of Hamilton funded program that teaches adults with disabilities and youth aged 16 years and older how to ride the bus independently. We are also developing a travel training program to teach routes on GO Transit, which we hope to offer in the near future.
Free Online Classes During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Learn to use the HSR bus system safely during COVID with CAT. This program is open to individuals who currently access disability services in Hamilton. In a series of free online classes that run from 4 to 10 hours (depending on course options), participants are taught about safety and how to navigate the city’s bus routes. Classes range in size from 4 to 20 participants and offer individualized attention. Course options are tailored to meet the needs of both new and previous CAT participants to cover all aspects of bus use and personal safety in the community during the pandemic.
